Julia Aizuss is a member of the Class of 2014 at Harvard-Westlake School in Los Angeles, California. Her current favorite writers include Virginia Woolf, David Foster Wallace, T.S. Eliot, and Stephen Dunn. She has been published or is forthcoming in Polyphony H.S. and The Adroit Journal and has a strong appreciation for tea and autumnal weather.
Lillian Fishman is a member of the Class of 2012 at Weston High School in Weston, Massachusetts. Among her favorite things are dumplings, the city of Boston, Thanksgiving, doorknobs, tea with milk, and the view of trees from second-story windows. She particularly loathes all mint-flavored things, including toothpaste.
Eun Gee Joh (cover artist, Fall 2011 issue) is a senior visual artist at Walnut Hill School for the Arts. She was born in Seoul, South Korea, and started painting when she was five years old. “Self Portrait (2011)” was her first senior studio project. The assignment was to construct a sefl-portrait using restricted materials: yarns and fabrics.
Juwon Kim is a member of the Class of 2012 at Milton Academy, in Milton, Massachusetts. She is originally from Cheongju, South Korea. Her favorite novels are Atonement, by Ian McEwan, This Boy’s Life, by Tobias Wolff, and 1984, by George Orwell.
Peter LaBerge is a member of the Class of 2013 at Greens Farms Academy, in Greens Farms, Connecticut. He recently received the 2011 Renee Duke Youth Award from Poets for Human Rights for a set of poems about the Cuban dissident experience, and was named a runner-up in the 2011 Bishop Prizes for his poem “Natalie Remembers”. His poetry was also recognized in the 2011 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, and is featured or forthcoming in a variety of print and online publications. He is the founder and current editor-and-chief of The Adroit Journal (www.adroit.co.nr).
Camille Petersen is a junior at Villa Walsh Academy and is from Mendham, New Jersey. She would like to extend the warmest thanks to her friend, Erin Cullen, for always providing her with inspiration and support. Camille’s favorite book is The Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood. Her hobbies include volunteering, Mock Trial, cross country and track, music, Extemporaneous Speaking, and spending as much time as she can with her wonderful friends.
Catherine Wong is a sophomore at Morristown High School in Morristown, New Jersey. When not writing, she enjoys reading P.G. Wodehouse novels, day-dreaming, and catching raindrops on her tongue.
